“Emigre” is an upcoming series that delves into the harsh realities of sex trafficking and immigration in NYC, starring Chuku Modu as Jarrel (known for ABC’s “The Good Doctor,” CW’s “The 100,” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), and featuring acclaimed actresses Mathilde Dehaye (“Castle Rock,” “Servant”), Lori Hammel (“Burn After Reading,” “Puzzle,” “Blood Conscious”), and Mary Looram (ABC’s “What Would You Do?” and Comedy Central’s Alec’s Roast promo).
Created and directed by Freddie Connor, written by Scott MacCallum and Caroline Lees, and featuring striking cinematography by Tom Wilton, the series is produced by Katherine Meyer and Joshua Kidd and boasts a score by Deborah Mollison, the composer of BAFTA-winning East is East.
The narrative follows a chilling kidnapping that exposes the brutal underbelly of exploitation and the struggles of immigrants in NYC.

ABOUT
Freddie Connor is an award‑winning film director, screenwriter, and producer. He graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London in 2003.
His pilot Flattening the Curve won Best Pilot at the L.A. Webfest in 2023.
He’s directed high‑profile commercials such as Matt Brown: The Immortal, celebrating UFC legend Matt Brown; Once Upon a Time in Shawnee with former boxing champion Buster Douglas narrated by Don Frye; and London Blue, starring the late Hollywood actor Christian Oliver and Taylor Reynolds.
His narrative work includes Heather’s Painting, which earned 30 awards—including Best Picture at the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival—and the dark comedy Sipped, winner of the Silver Award at the Los Angeles Film Review Awards. Both films earned him Direction honors at the Accolade Global Film Competition.
As a producer, his feature Baseline was released by StudioCanal Plus in over 15 countries and won Best Feature at the New York City International Film Festival.
